Anegan was first offered to vijay

Director KV Anand The cinematographer turned director  KV has declared that he scripted ‘Anegan’ for Vijay, but, as vijay had been already been signed up with jilla and kaththi so he suggested to cast Dhanush but he loved the script and really wanted to do it. KV Anand also agreed with the suggestion. He says that after Kamal Haasan, nobody has convincingly portrayed romance on screen apart from Dhanush. ‘Anegan’ features Dhanush and Amyra Dastur in lead roles and the veteran Karthik is making a comeback to kollywood town. Dhanush and vijay had recently seen sharing a friendly relationship. 

KV anand said After Maattrraan; he was approached by many producers to do a film with Vijay. But as he has a habit of not approaching an actor without a clear idea of the story in mind and the script, it took four months to finish the script. Karthik plays a 50-year-old in the film, but is a fun loving guy. The film is set in an IT company and he plays the manager of a team there.
