Ilayathalapathy Thanks Fans, Directors, Producers in Heartfelt Letter

Actor Vijay completed his 22 years of journey in Tamil film industry on December 4th, 2014. He is a person who doesn’t forget the past and wrote a thanks giving letter which says," I cherish every single day of these 22 years I have spent in cinema. It has given me everything in life. I would like to take this opportunity to convey my heartfelt thanks to people who have helped me in these past 22 years".

Son of director S.A. Chandrashekar and mother Shoba, 'Actor Vijay' entered the Tamil film industry through his debut film 'naalaiya theerpu' in the year 1992. He is well known as 'Ilayathalapathy' by his fans and heartthrob of many youngsters. He earned fame by his perseverance and passion for acting and entertaining the audience through his commercial films. Actor Vijay has no fear of failures since he started to understand his audience expectations. Actor Vijay married Sangeetha in 1999 and has a son Sanjay and daughter Divya.

'Kushi' a blockbuster movie of 2000 directed by SJ Surya was the turning point for Vijay. In the recent audio launch of SJ Surya's movie, Vijay gave a candid speech that left many stunned - "It was a do-or-die situation for me in Tamil cinema around 14 years ago, as all my flicks were flopping at the box office. That's when SJ Surya sir who approached me with the Kushi script - and it was a turning point in my film career" he also added that SJ Surya is mind-blowing in narrating his scripts to the actors.

Through his sequential hits such as "Poovae Unakkaga","Kaadhalukku Mariyadhai", "Love Today", "Priyamanavale", "Priyamudan", "Ghilli", "Thirupachi", "Pokkiri", "Nanban", "Thuppakki" and "Kaththi" he topped in "FORBES POWERFUL INDIAN CELEBRITY 100" at a very young age who has a huge fan base and popularity. He has acted 57 films and his upcoming movie "Vijay58" will hit the screen this summer, which is eagerly expected by his fans. He is honoured with Kalaimaamani and Honorary doctorate by Dr.M.G.R Educational and Research Institute for his philanthropic activities for the society.
