Vijay answers to cola controversy

Actor vijay surprised his fans by answering their questions regarding the cola controversy in the movie “kaththi” Actor Vijay has deliberately stayed away from taking any questions from the media even after some of his films have been involved in political controversies. He was frank when fans asked what he thought of political parties attempting to stall the release of his latest film, Kaththi. He also broke his silence on the much-debated issue of why he chose to act in a film critical of cola companies when he has endorsed a popular cola brand in the past. The actor said he doesn’t endorse the popular cola brand anymore and that he agrees with the views of Jeevanandham, the character he played in the film. “When I read the script of Kaththi, it made sense to me and I voiced it through Jeeva’s character. I am a normal person who has corrected himself after realising I have been wrong on certain issues,” he said. He also said that he would be extremely happy if people start questioning political parties when they make electoral alliances.  The actor agreed about the endorsement and also said that most of the big Indian celebrities like sachin, aamir khan also were brand ambassadors

It’s all thanks to one simple hashtag - #HelpBabyBala

A concerted twitter and facebook appeal for funding for the surgery of a sick child, has raised a whopping Rs.7.73 lakh in the last 6 days - with actor Vijay chipped in became viral in social media.
Sixteen-month-old Balasubramaniam, was diagnosed with Severe Combined Immunodeficiency Syndrome - a condition where even the commonest of colds could deal a fatal blow. The only way to save him was a bone marrow transplant with a price tag of Rs.20 lakhs, which was huge amount to raise by a labour's family. A week ago, as they lounged around the waiting room at the Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre, Murugan admits that he could not imagine raising that much money, “We have already lost two children like this. I desperately tried to save Bala by taking him to Mehta, Apollo and now SRMC, but the operation was too much,” he explains. They’d sent out letters to charitable organizations and printed appeals, but very little reaped returns.
One of his friends called Rahman, who uses social media promotions for film trailers and publicity tried to help on the medium , “I started a twitter handle @HelpBabyBala and sent a basic appeal by tagging actors like Sivakarthikeyan and Vivekh. It was a force of habit for me,” he smiles. It was New Year’s Eve, but the Maan Karate star did a simple retweet. That set the ball rolling, “Within one hour it was trending and people started asking me where to send money. I didn’t know what to do, so I asked the baby’s father,” he explains.
They decided to start a bank account in the child’s name, which the bank pushed through in an hour despite just coming off a holiday. As soon as the account numbers were tweeted, the funds began to pour in. Soul crushingly, Bala’s condition began to deteriorate two days ago and he was no longer viable for the surgery. “There is very little hope now, so we asked people to stop donating. But they say that we must pray and keep going. Their love and support is so great that Murugan is going to ask them if this unused money can be given to some other deserving child with the same condition,” says Rahman.
The tweet caught the attention of actor Vijay. Vijay was shooting for Puli in Pondicherry and so sent his fan club secretary to first go check whether the child’s case was genuine. “He called at 11 pm that night and took all the details. The next day he came there and after visiting the child, quietly gave us a cheque for Rs. 2 lakh from Vijay. He even put us on a call and he took time off shooting and told us that he would pray for the child’s safety,” says Murugan.

Shankar To Remake PK in tamil With Vijay In the lead?

The tremendous success of Aamir Khan's "PK" has led to rumours that the film will be remade in southern languages. Rajkumar Hirani’s ‘PK’ which stole the hearts of mass audience crossing Rs.300 cr in just 3 weeks might be remade in Tamil. PK which was released on December 19 has Aamir as the lead actor. Actors like Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh and Boman Irani also played crucial role in the movie.

Director Shankar who is awaiting for the release of his upcoming movie "I", might remake PK in Tamil. Shankar had recently praised Aamir Khan by calling it an enlightening, thought provoking and meaningfully funny film. Shankar also said the movie was well written and directed by Rajkumar Hirani and it also had Aamir Khan's world class performance. Director Rajkumar Hirani’s super hits ‘Munnabhai MBBS’ was made into 'Vasoolraja MBBS’ with Kamal Hasan while, ‘3 Idiots’ was also remade by Shankar as ‘Nanban’ with ilayathalapathy Vijay in lead.

Despite all the controversies, Hirani's 'PK' has become the hot topic for various film producers and directors. There are possibilities therefore that "PK" also might see a remake, but there is no official word in this regard. If it happens, it will be interesting to see who reprises Aamir Khan's role.

Recently director Shankar had insisted actor Vijay to watch the Aamir Khan starrer and had told him that he intended to remake the film in Tamil.

Vijay, fan of Aamir khan's, took a break from his busy schedules to watch PK. He appreciated the film crew. When this news begin to spread, his fans started to speculate on the possibility of Vijay working in the tamil remake of it. Vijay is currently busy with his upcoming film "Puli," which is expected to hit the screens during Diwali festival. Post the completion of "Puli," Vijay is likely to begin shooting for his 59th film referred as "Vijay 59." The film will be directed by Atlee of "Raja Rani" fame. If "PK" remake happens, Vijay might be able to take up the film only after completing his current assignments.

Actor Vijay’s 58th film, a fantasy drama, has been titled Puli.

After several reports about the film’s title, which ranged from Garuda to Maru Dheeran, Puli was finally confirmed on Jan 4th,2015.
“It gives us immense pleasure and happiness to announce the title as Puli for our most prestigious project with Vijay and director Chimbudevan,” said a statement from the film’s production house SKT Studios. The update appeared on the actor’s Twitter page.
The movie will see actor Sridevi playing Hansika Motwani’s mother. Sridevi, who is making a comeback in the industry after a while, will don the role of a queen, while Haniska will play a princess.
Ever since the film went on floors, there has been a lot of speculation about the project, which is a milestone in the Ilayathalapathy’s career.
The film also stars Shruti Haasan and Sudeep. Reports earlier suggested that Kannada actor Sudeep will be playing the role of Vijay’s mentor and that the film is about the tussle between the disciple and his guru. However, not much is known about Shruti’s role. The film is jointly being produced by Shibu Thameens and P T. Selvakumar. Devi Sri Prasad has been roped in to compose the tunes for Puli and National-award winning lyricist Vairamuthu is penning the lyrics for the flick which is the first collaboration between Vijay and Chimbudevan.
Chimbudevan earlier made flicks like Arai En 305-il Kadavul, Imsai Arasan 23m Pulikesi and Oru Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaniyum.
Talks are on about Puli’s Hindi version as Eros International has shown interest in acquiring the rights for the film.
